Annual

Specialty Show

Our flagship AKC-sanctioned conformation show — Great Danes judged against the breed standard by approved specialist judges. Every club member volunteers to make this event a success.

Next year's specialty show will be returning to Madison, WI during the Renaissance Cluster all-breed show, where we will be hosting our specialties February 25–27.

About Our Shows

Specialty shows are a cornerstone of the purebred dog world. Unlike all-breed shows where many breeds compete, a specialty show focuses exclusively on one breed—in our case, the magnificent Great Dane. These events bring together exhibitors and judges who are deeply knowledgeable about the breed.

At a specialty show, every Great Dane entry is evaluated against the official AKC breed standard. Judges look for the ideal Great Dane qualities: proper structure, movement, temperament, and the distinctive characteristics that make the breed great. These shows are sanctioned by the American Kennel Club and offer championship points toward titles.

Specialty shows serve multiple purposes in our community. They celebrate breeding excellence and reward responsible breeding practices. They provide a venue for education—both for judges and exhibitors—about what the breed should be. And they bring together people who share a passion for Great Danes, fostering friendships and knowledge exchange that strengthen the entire breed.

Whether you're a seasoned exhibitor or simply appreciate seeing beautiful, well-trained dogs, our specialty show is an event not to be missed.

Regular Meetings

General Membership Meetings

Our membership meetings are held via Zoom, making it convenient for members across the region to participate. Meeting dates are announced on our Facebook page — we're currently finalizing our regular meeting schedule, so follow us there for the latest updates.

Meetings cover club business, breed education, show planning, and provide time for connecting with fellow enthusiasts. Guests are always welcome — reach out and we'll share the Zoom link.

Board Meetings

Board meetings are held to discuss club operations, planning, and governance. The board is elected by the membership and meets to conduct the club's business on your behalf.

If you're interested in club leadership or have topics you'd like the board to address, please reach out to the club president or attend a membership meeting to speak during open forum.
