Our Purpose

Our Mission

The Lake Shore Great Dane Club is dedicated to promoting responsible ownership, advancing the Great Dane breed through education and selective breeding, and building a vibrant community of Great Dane enthusiasts throughout the greater Chicagoland area. We are committed to hosting AKC-sanctioned specialty shows, supporting health initiatives, and ensuring that the breed's majestic qualities are preserved for future generations.

As an AKC affiliate, we uphold the highest standards of breed excellence while fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone who shares our passion for these magnificent dogs.

What We Do

Conformation Shows

We host AKC-sanctioned specialty shows that celebrate Great Dane excellence. Our events attract top breeders and judges, providing opportunities for exhibitors to showcase their dogs while maintaining breed standards.

Breed Education & Health

Through our social media outreach and blog content, we educate the community about responsible breeding, health screening, and proper care of Great Danes. We share breed-specific health resources, owner tips, and educational articles to reach Great Dane enthusiasts everywhere.

The Lake Shore Great Dane Club was established by a group of dedicated breed enthusiasts in the Chicagoland area, united by a shared vision of promoting breed excellence and responsible Great Dane ownership.

Achieved official AKC affiliate status (Club #874), enabling us to host sanctioned specialty shows and events that meet the highest breed standards.

Recognized as an official affiliate of the Great Dane Club of America, connecting our local community to the national parent club and its resources for breed preservation and advancement.
